PageRank Predictor
The search term “predict pagerank” seems to be quite popular, so I put it into Google and inspected the first ten page results. There is always a certain amount of serendipity about such journeys but as far as predicting pagerank is concerned, the whole concept is laughable.
Top of the list was iwebtool.com, professing to have a predictor tool that does what it states on the tin and foresee your future Google PageRank. Let’s be fair though because it does also say that the tool provides an estimate of future pagerank and should not be thought of as precise. It most certainly should not be taken seriously.
Click on “How to use this tool” and you will be told to input your URL or even as many as ten URLs and hit enter. Then the results, it is alleged, will offer a prediction of future PageRank but this should not be considered true; their words not mine! Apparently, the results can also be known as current “real” PageRank, whatever that means…..
You can also have the rather doubtful privilege of showing the Google PageRank Prediction tool on your website by copying and pasting some code but it might be best for the reputation of your website if you decide against.
The CEO of one SEO company has even ridiculed his own pagerank predictor tool in a forum calling it a “stupid tool” because it did not function correctly for his own site. If you go to the SEO section of rustybrick.com you will be informed that the result is only an estimate and not to be considered fact. It carries on to say that the tool should be used for entertainment purposes only, which is to his credit.
If it were possible to forecast your site’s future PageRank accurately, the entire system would just fold up as SEO experts find out how it works and then exploit it, which would just make it have no meaning. Websites would soar up the rankings and the system would be untenable.
There is an excellent reason why Google’s algorithms are a closely kept secret. The only way to know about your website’s future PageRank is to wait for it to arrive in their next update!”
